Second Plate Project: Gothic Spaulders

Here's a pic of the wing on a set of gothic spaulders I am building. Pattern by Master Geoffrey (armourarchive.org). Alan Baudree laid the flutes on these pieces.

Finally finished sanding, buffing and waxing the spaulders. This Saturday I plan to strap them and consider them finished. I don't consider this finish a true "mirror" but its definitely shiny. I sanded them by hand using automotive sandpaper in 200, 320, 400 (wet) and 600 (dry) grits. Then did two passes with an emery compound and buffing wheel. I then applied several layers of turtle wax to help maintain the finish. I used a Scotchbright Cleaning Cloth to buff the wax and give them a final polish.
